Every listing came up in California Google Maps searches for stucco repair, stucco contractors, plastering and related terms.
Pool plasterers, product and supply stores, decorative-only plaster studios, landscapers, insurance, pest and other unrelated trades are removed. Duplicate listings are merged.
Companies whose name or main Google category says stucco or plaster get the Stucco specialist badge and are listed first.
Companies with a street address go on their county and city page. Service-area companies without one are listed on the county page only.
Listings are built from public business information and placed by the county and city in each business listing. Ratings and review counts are shown as published and refresh when the directory is rebuilt. We do not verify contractor licenses, so check every contractor with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) before you sign.
Owners can claim a listing to correct details or add photos. A person checks every claim. Published by John Bennett.
Most California homes with stucco have cement stucco applied in layers over paper and metal lath on a wood frame. When it fails, the surface crack is rarely the whole story: water that gets behind the stucco can stain it, soften the sheathing and corrode the lath. A good contractor looks at what is behind the damage, not only what shows.
Start with what you can see. Hairline cracks are common and often cosmetic. Cracks wider than a credit card, stains at the base of the wall, bulging, or sections that sound hollow when tapped call for a closer look. Photos of the damage, with a coin or ruler for scale, make quotes easier to compare. See crack repair and stucco repair for what the work usually involves.
Know your options. Small damage can be patched and blended. Widespread damage may call for re-stucco, a new finish over a repaired base. Older homes may have lath and plaster inside, and some newer buildings have EIFS, a foam-based system that is repaired differently. A new color coat hides patches and refreshes the wall.
Check the license. Stucco work is in the Lathing and Plastering class (C-35), and general building contractors may also do it. Look up any contractor on the California Contractors State License Board site and ask for proof of insurance. A listing on this site is not a license check.
Compare like with like. Get at least two written quotes that cover the same scope: area, how damaged stucco will be removed, what will be checked behind it, how the finish will match, paint, permit and warranty. Our cost guides cover general price ranges.
Get two or three written quotes for the same scope, check each contractor's license on the CSLB website, ask whether they have worked on your type of wall (cement stucco or EIFS), and ask who is responsible for the building paper, lath and flashing behind the surface. Our cost guide covers general ranges.
It means the business's name or main Google category includes stucco or plaster. It is not a license, certification or endorsement, and we have not checked the quality of anyone's work.
No. California Stucco Contractors is an independent directory. It does not do stucco work and does not take a cut of any job. The call or text line shown on the site is a free matching and information line, not a business listed here.
